Coat and Blanket Drive for the Homeless

Jan 16, 2023

When you think about the homeless, what's the first thing that comes to mind? In the winter, for me, it's always been "cold." The idea that people who have nowhere to live don't have any warm clothes, blankets or even hats is devastating. Missoula has a large homeless population and we all need to come together as a community if we want them to survive this winter. That's why The Last Best Store has partnered with Housing Humans Inc., a local non-profit that helps people in need find housing and get back on their feet again. We're doing a coat drive at The Last Best Store from now through February 20th! If you have a gently used or new item you'd like to donate please drop it off at our store during business hours.

Now that winter is here, Missoula's homeless population is in need of coats, blankets, hats gloves and boots.

This winter, we need your help. We at The Last Best Store want to make sure that no one goes through the cold days of January and February without the basic necessities of life: coats, blankets, hats, gloves and boots.

Please, Give generously!

If you have any lightly used coats or blankets or warm weather gear that you are willing to donate please bring them in to us. We will be collecting through the 20th of February, with deliveries to Housing Humans Inc and the local shelters happening often as items come in.

There will be a Family friendly fundraiser on the 21 of January, called SnowGlo winter festival

  • Photo booth
  • Live music provided by local DJs, both inside and outside throughout the day/evening. Bonfire from 10pm-2am Aerial performers and lazer visuals!

"Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness." - Seneca

Please join us in this effort by donating new or gently used coats, sweaters, boots and blankets. Gloves, hats and new socks will be accepted as well.

Please help us collect these items throughout the month of January and into February. We are asking for the support of the local community to help those who are living without a home during the winter months.

The Last Best Store will be collecting coats and blankets through February 20th so if you are able to donate, drop your donations off at our store in the Southgate Mall during business hours.
